Mathura (Uttar Pradesh) [India], August 7 (ANI): A wanted killer, Pankaj Yadav, was shot dead during an encounter with Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) in Mathura on Wednesday, said UP police officials.
At around 5:20 AM, in the Farah police station area of Mathura district, contract killer Yadav with a reward of Rs 1 lakh got injured in the police encounter and was shifted to a hospital, said UP police officials.
However, the hospital authorities declared him dead, the statement noted.
One pistol, one revolver, one two-wheeler and other incriminating materials were recovered from the spot. One accused managed to escape from the spot and is being searched in the nearby police station areas, the statement added further.
Notably, Pankaj Yayadv had ties with the late gangster-turned-politicians Mukhtar Ansari and Mohammad Shahabuddin and other gangs. He was a resident of village Tahirapur, Ranipur block of Uttar Pradesh’s Mau district. (ANI)
