Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], April 23: Amrita Vidyalayam, Nallampalayam, Coimbatore, proudly presented the Amrita Vidyalayam World Records Festival 2025, celebrating 25 years of excellence in education. The festival showcased the exceptional skills and talents of its students, earning recognition from prestigious record-keeping organizations, including Elite World Records, Asian Records Academy, India Records Academy, and Tamilan Book of Records, under the close supervision of 27 adjudicators from 3 countries and 7 different states of India.
Swamini Muktamrita Prana, Manager of Amrita Vidyalayam, highlighted Amma’s guiding philosophy: “Gaining mastery over the mind is the real education.” She emphasized that the school strives to provide an education that nurtures creativity, intelligence, and character development in every child.
Swamini Bhaktipriyamrita Prana, Correspondent, Amrita Vidyalayam, Tamil Nadu & Puducherry, stated that a record was set for the Largest Portrait Made with Origami Hearts, depicting “Our Beloved Amma – Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi.” A total of 2,598 students, along with 150 teaching staff and 100 supporting staff, worked tirelessly for 5 hours and 5 minutes to create this magnificent artwork. The portrait covered an area of 639.84 square meters and used 128,262 origami hearts. This creation was a heartfelt tribute, symbolizing love, devotion, and unity. Upon completion, participants performed bhajans and aarti, filling the atmosphere with spirituality and gratitude. She concluded that the display was a testimony to the creativity, dedication, and teamwork of the students and staff, leaving a lasting impression of beauty and devotion.

K.Jayajothy, Principal, at Amrita Vidyalayam (Tamil Nadu and Puducherry), detailed about two world records in sports drills. The first, for the Most Participants Performing a Sports Drill while Holding an Umbrella Simultaneously involved 424 students from Grades VII and VIII which was guided by Sankar R, Eduactor. The drill, lasting 5 minutes and 11.50 seconds, showcased precise slow and fast movements, creating a visually stunning display with vibrant umbrellas after 30 days of training. The second record, for the Most Participants Performing a Sports Drill while Blindfolded and Holding a Ball Simultaneously, featured 414 students. Lasting 4 minutes and 50.75 seconds, their flawless coordination demonstrated exceptional teamwork and spatial awareness.
Educators Anusha V and Mahalakshmi R shared achievements in setting two world records: one for the Most Participants Consecutively Explaining Physics Concepts and another for Chemistry Concepts, Definitions, and Formulae in 12 Hours. A total of 478 students participated in physics (460 approved), and 483 in chemistry (465 approved). In physics, 27 succeeded on their second attempt and 18 on their third. Both events showcased students’ clarity, confidence, and subject knowledge while significantly enhancing their public speaking, critical thinking, and passion for academic excellence, inspiring a strong foundation in science learning, they concluded.
Educators Parameswari R, Divya T, and Thenmozhi A shared that a world record was set for the Most Participants Making Seed Balls Consecutively in 4 Hours. Under the guidance of Jeyanthi M and Vijila P, 2,361 students, 150 teaching staff, and 100 support staff created 65,000 seed balls using five seed types. The initiative promoted reforestation and biodiversity. Donated to the Forest Department, it fostered teamwork, creativity, and environmental responsibility, inspiring students to become eco-champions.
Educators Priya V and Praveena S detailed about two world records highlighting early language development. The first was for the Most Participants Consecutively Reciting Rhymes in 12 Hours, with 808 students from Pre-KG to Grade II participating; all were approved, including 9 on their second attempt. After 36 days of training, students recited rhymes in seven languages with enthusiasm and strong preparation. The second record was for the Most Participants to Recall Sight Words Consecutively for 12 Hours, where 558 of 564 students were approved, with 25 succeeding on their second attempt and 14 on their third. Both events boosted language skills, fluency, creativity, and overall academic confidence, they concluded.
Educator Nirmala Devi G stated that we have set a new world record for the Longest Thirukkural Recitation Marathon by a Team (Single Venue). Surpassing the previous record of 13 hours 46 minutes with 365 participants set in Singapore, this event lasted 16 hours 21 minutes with 1,282 participants. After deducting 5 minutes and disqualifying 4 participants, the final approved record was 16 hours 16 minutes with 1,278 participants. The Thirukkural promotes timeless values, enhancing students’ discipline, critical thinking, and character, helping them face academic and personal challenges with moral strength.
Educators Deepa K and Nanthini S shared two remarkable world records. The first, for the Most Participants Consecutively Narrating Short Stories in 12 Hours, saw 713 participants, with 673 approved. Storytelling enhanced communication, creativity, and cognitive skills, fostering emotional intelligence, vocabulary, public speaking, and critical thinking. The second record was for the Longest Marathon for Identifying and Recalling Unique Attributes of Digital Images Using Associative Memory, lasting 14 hours and 27 minutes with 430 participants. After deductions, 373 participants were approved for 12 hours and 33 minutes. This activity sharpened memory, focus, and observation, boosting cognitive development and attention to detail, especially in science and technology fields, they concluded.
Educators Saritha R Nair and Soorya R shared details about two world records for consecutively explaining academic concepts. Saritha’s record for the Most Participants Explaining Science Concepts, Definitions, and Formulae in 12 Hours saw 620 students participate, with 614 approved. This initiative fostered curiosity, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills, boosting communication, confidence, and a passion for science. Soorya’s record for Mathematics Concepts, Definitions, and Formulae involved 673 students, with 658 approved, they concluded.
The Amrita Vidyalayam World Records Festival 2025 showcased remarkable achievements, reflecting the institution’s commitment to excellence in education, creativity, teamwork, and academic growth, inspiring students to reach new heights.
