Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], July 16 (ANI): After the Karnataka government announced that the 7th pay Commission with come into effect from August 1, Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge said that it was one of the demands of people and it will benefit around 14 to 15 lakh state employees.
“Seventh Pay Commission was one of the demands of the people and it was also there in our manifesto. Yesterday we brought it into the Cabinet and saw the blueprint of the financials. It will benefit around 14 to 15 lakh state employees…,” Priyank Kharge said speaking to ANI on Tuesday.
The Karnataka government on Monday fulfilled the long-standing demand of the state government employees after the cabinet approved the 7th pay Commission with effect from August 1.
In the cabinet meeting chaired by CM Siddaramaiah on Monday, a decision has been taken to implement the 7th Pay Commission for state government employees with effect from August 1.
An important state cabinet meeting was held on Monday under the leadership of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah after the first day of the assembly session.
Many development projects in the state were also approved in the meeting.
On the same occasion, there was a discussion about the demand of state government employees for many days to implement the salary as per the 7th Pay Commission.
Finally, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah approved the decision to implement the 7th Pay Commission for state government employees with effect from August 1.
Deputy CM DK Shivakumar confirmed the decision with a post on X “Sweet news for government employees: The Cabinet meeting held today decided to implement the much sought after 7th Pay Commission recommendations. The recommendations will come into effect from August 1.”
State Government employees will now see a 27.5 per cent hike in their salaries from August 1. The state government’s decision to complement the 7th Pay Commission recommendations is expected to cost the state exchequer approximately Rs 17440 crore annually. (ANI)
