New Delhi [India], July 14 (ANI): Referring to the assassination attempt at former US President Donald Trump, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Amit Malviya attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his allegedly “insincere” words against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and accused him of “encouraging and justifying violence” against PM Modi multiple times.
He further referred to the 2022 incident, alleging that Prime Minister Modi’s security was “deliberately compromised” in Punjab, which was then ruled by Congress.
Earlier in the day, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi condemned the assassination attempt on Trump and expressed “deep concerns” on the incident.
Quoting his post on social media platform X, Malviya posted an old clip of Rahul Gandhi, where he was attacking PM Modi.
Malviya said, “These are insincere words. Third Time Fail Rahul Gandhi has often encouraged and justified violence against Prime Minister Modi, who he has lost election to, several times now. How can India ever forget how Punjab Police, then under the Congress, deliberately compromised PM’s security, when his convoy was left stranded on a flyover.”
The BJP leader also shared another video of a Democrat leader in the US alleging that if Trump wins the US elections, it will be the “last election” in the country and it would be the “end” of democracy and constitution.
Referring to this, Malviya said, “This kind of vile rhetoric against Trump led to an assassination bid. The man responsible, owes allegiance to George Soros funded ANTIFA, a Left wing ‘anti-fascist, anti-racist’ movement in the US. This language is eerily similar to Third Time Fail Rahul Gandhi’s speeches in India. Whose script is he reading?”
“Had Donald Trump not moved away in time, the bullet would have got his temple, leaving his skull split wide open. Let that sink in. The deranged Left can go to any extent,” he said in a subsequent post.
Trump was on stage at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania’s Butler before gunshots rang out and Secret Service agents stormed the stage.
Following the attack on Trump, the Secret Service agents surrounded the Republican candidate and escorted him off the stage, with blood visible across his face.
Donald Trump said that the bullet pierced the upper part of his ear.
One of the rally attendees was killed, while two more were critically injured, CNN reported. The gunman was also killed by US Secret Service agents.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has identified the gunman involved in the assassination attempt against Donald Trump as Thomas Matthew Crooks. It further said that an investigation is underway into the shooting incident, CNN reported. (ANI)
