Patna (Bihar) [India], August 25 (ANI): Taking a jibe at RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, election strategist-turned-politician and Jan Suraaj chief Prashant Kishor said it is laughable when Tejashwi Yadav discusses the development model, as the person whose party was in rule for 15 years (in Bihar) doesn’t know what GDP and growth rates are.
Furthermore, he said that comments on his statements can only be made when speaks on caste, extortion, liquor mafia, and crime and not on development.
Kishor also took a dig at Yadav and said that when the latter was in government, Bihar looked like Switzerland to him, and now that he is in opposition, the state looks like gutter to him.
Speaking to media, Prashant Kishor said, “I know about Tejashwi Yadav’s understanding of development. Comments can be made if he speaks on caste, extortion, liquor mafia, and crime, but if Tejashwi Yadav discusses the development model, it is laughable. They have been in power for the last 15 years, he does not know what GDP and GDP growth are, and is talking about the development story of Bihar. As far as crime is concerned, when Tejashwi Yadav was the Deputy CM six months ago, Bihar was Switzerland for him and after six months Bihar has become a gutter. If today Nitish Kumar joins Mahagathbandhan, Bihar will again start looking great to him.”
Expressing views on the caste census, Kishor further stepped up his attacks on Congress leader and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi and said that there is no panacea when he says conducting caste census can remove poverty and questioned that his (Congress) party was in rule for the last 60 years but why they didn’t conduct caste-census.
Kishor advised Rahul Gandhi to conduct a caste census in Congress-ruling states like Karnataka, Telangana, etc. to eradicate poverty and said if it gets successful then other states would follow the same model.
On the caste census, Kishor said, “Caste census should be conducted, there is no problem in that. But there is no panacea when Rahul Gandhi says that it will remove poverty or better the conditions of the people. If the situation can be better from the caste census, then we have data on SCs/STs communities. Rahul Gandhi or any person who is saying this, first they should explain why the situation of these communities hasn’t improved yet. Only getting information couldn’t improve the situation. Congress was in rule for 60 years, why they didn’t conduct a caste census? Bihar had conducted, did the poverty get eradicated from it? Let it be, Congress should conduct caste census in their ruling states like Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, and Telangana and eradicate poverty. If they will be successful, then we all will follow their model. Bihar is a poor state which is a known fact and there is no need for a survey on this purpose, instead, Rahul Gandhi should provide a mantra for improving the situation.
Speaking on the Bihar Legislative Assembly 2025 elections, Jan Suraaj Chief conveyed that they will contest elections on all 243 seats out of which there will be 40 women candidates from the party to be formed.
Jan Suraaj chief Prashant Kishor said, “In 2025, Jan Suraaj will contest on 243 seats and at least 40 women candidates will be nominated. We have also said that till 2030, at least 70-80 women will be trained and made leaders from Jan Suraaj. This was not a meeting of the women’s cell; it was an effort to make women leaders in the true sense. Till the time women get economic independence, their equal participation is not possible, that’s why Jan Suraaj’s first campaign is to make 40 women win in the next assembly elections. The second thing we demanded is that the women who want to do an occupation or want to get employed should get money on a “sarkari guarantee” from the government, the third thing is that in 2025, when the Jan Suraaj government is formed, then no one will be forced to leave Bihar for a job of Rs 10,000-12,000. We have prepared a complete blueprint for this. The last thing that we appealed to them is to vote for the future of their children and not for politicians.”
Prashant Kishor also held Mahila Samwad in the capital of Bihar, Patna.
On July 28, Kishor said that he would launch a new political party on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2.
The most significant aspect of his announcement is that he would launch his political outfit ahead of the Bihar assembly polls.
Addressing the functionaries during the Jan Suraaj Abhiyan at Bapu Sabhaghar in Patna, he said that the foundation stone for the party would be laid on October 2, and the party would begin with over one lakh people as its office bearers.
The election strategist also informed that he would not lead the party instead the leaders would be elected from their respective assembly constituencies.
Prashant Kishore further exuded confidence of winning the assembly elections in Bihar in 2025. (ANI)
