New Delhi [India], April 28 (ANI): BJP National spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla on Monday took a jibe at Congress party after their MLA Vijay Waddetiwar made a controversial comment on the Pahalgam terror attack.
Poonawalla stated that the name of the party should be changed to Pakistan party, further stating that the party’s dual policy would not work.
“INC’s name should be changed to Pakistan based party. On one hand, Rahul Gandhi comes and tells in the all party meeting to take action against terrorism and on the other hand and on the other hand the party’s leaders make fun of the Hindu victims. I want the party ask are the victims lying about what happened to them? Their dual policy won’t work… Congress today again has allowed vote bank policy to dominate over the national policy and Waddetiwar is the same person who gave a clean chit to Pakistan in the 26/11 attack. How far will Congress go to have a soft corner for Pakistan?” Poonawalla said speaking to ANI.
In another self-shot video, Poonawalla said that Congress leaders kept giving a clean chit to Pakistan.
“Congress leaders are competing to give a clean chit to Pakistan one after the other… Now Vijay Wadettiwar says that the government is responsible, Pakistan is not responsible and is there any proof that terrorists killed people based on religion. This is not being said for the first time, the same thing has come from Anil Deshmukh of NCP-Sharad Pawar faction… “
Meanwhile, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi mocked the Congress party and said that they needed to get out competition and become Pakistan’s proxy partners.
“Some people need to get out of the competition to become Pakistan’s proxy partners… This is neither in their interest, nor in the interest of the country. What kind of political gain are they trying to aim for when the nation is asking for action against Pakistan in one voice?…” Naqvi said.
Earlier today, Senior Maharashtra Congress MLA Vijay Waddetiwar questioned the version of the victims who said that the terrorists asked them their religion before opening fire.
“The government should take responsibility for the Pahalgam terrorist attack. They (the government) are saying that terrorists killed people after asking them (about their religion). Do terrorists have time for all this?… Some people say that this did not happen. Terrorists have no caste or religion. Identify those responsible and take appropriate action. This is the sentiment of the country,” the MLA said.
Reacting to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s “not in favour of war” statement on the Pahalgam attack, he said that if the government was ready for war, then it should be done.
Speaking to the media, Waddetiwar said, “All this is to divert people’s attention. He (CM Siddaramaiah) said there should be no war with Pakistan, but if the government is ready for war, then do it… “You (government) talk about stopping Pakistan’s water. It will take 20 years to do so….” (ANI)
