Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], March 24 (ANI): While inaugurating Infineon Technologies India’s new Global Capability Center at GIFT City in Gandhinagar, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that the launch of the state’s first Global Capability Center within just a month of announcing the Global Capability Center Policy is a remarkable example of Gujarat’s commitment to building a Viksit Bharat, a release said on Monday.
While emphasizing that the establishment of this Global Capability Center at GIFT City marked a new chapter in Gujarat’s technology sector, the Chief Minister stated that this centre would strengthen Gujarat’s ability to deliver semiconductor solutions to both the nation and the world.
In the presence of the Chief Minister, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Infineon Technologies and IIT-Gandhinagar to collaborate on industrial research, technology development, innovation, and talent development.
On this occasion, Mona Khandhar, Principal Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, presented the approval letter for financial incentives under the Gujarat Government’s Global Capability Center Policy 2025-30 to Infineon Technologies CEO, Jochen Hanebeck.
The Chief Minister further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has placed special emphasis on critical technologies like AI and semiconductors to empower the country’s technology sector.

Bhupendra Patel further stated that Gujarat is the first state in the country to prepare a roadmap for “Viksit Gujarat @ 2047” with the mantra of “Earning Well, Living Well” to achieve Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of creating a Viksit Bharat.
The Gujarat Government has prioritized the inclusion of global capability centres, AI, and innovation-based sectors under the Earning Well framework.
