New Delhi [India], June 3 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Monday prohibited Macherla MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy, accused of damaging EVM at a polling station, from entering the vote counting station on June 4.
YSR Congress Party MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy also assured the vacation bench of Justices Aravind Kumar and Sandeep Mehta that he will not enter counting station.
The YSRCP MLA was allegedly caught on the web camera vandalizing an EVM at a polling centre in the Macharla constituency of Palnadu district.
The top court after seeing the video said that interim protection granted to Reddy is “sheer mockery of the justice system”.
The court also said that what was the need of giving interim bail to Reddy and called the decision of granting interim relief as highly erroneous.
The top court was hearing plea challenging Andhra Pradesh High Court which has given interim relief to Reddy in the case.
The top court asked the High Court to dispose of pending petition listed on June 6 on its own merits without being influenced by earlier observations. (ANI)
