Laxman, a seller said, “We set up stall for Diwali since many years. We have many designs of diyas made from mud. We also have akasha deepam, tulasi deepam, talli and also water diya. We also have floating candles and floating diyas, rangoli colours and others. The sale is going good. Many customers are asking for coloured diyas. We have more than 400 designs of diyas. Compared to last year, the people want better quality. We have products from Maharashtra, Kolkata, Gujarat and other places too. We have diya starting from Rs 2.”
Neelani, a customer said, “I celebrate Diwali with diya made of mud over others. This is the best. I feel the rates are little higher, however, they have a lot of designs so we are purchasing from here. It’s Diwali so lets celebrate.”
Another customer, Eshwari who prefers mud diyas said, “The mud diyas give an authentic feel to the celebration. It is eco-friendly. It is also good to worship the Goddess with these diyas.”
