Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], June 7 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said on Saturday that he discussed the Bodhghat and river interlinking projects with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to New Delhi.
Explaining the benefits of the two major infrastructure initiatives, CM Sai said the projects will not only boost irrigation in the state but also contribute to electricity generation and fish production.
“I met PM Modi and told him about the Chhattisgarh changing landscapes. We discussed two things with him (PM Narendra Modi) — the Bodhghat project, and the river interlink project. With the construction of the Bodhghat project, approximately 4 lakh hectares will be irrigated, and through river interlinking, 3 lakh hectares will be irrigated. Thus, a total of 7 lakh hectares will be irrigated. With the construction of the Bodhghat project, 125 megawatts of electricity will be generated, and 4000 tonnes of fish will also be produced. I discussed these things with PM Modi,” the Chief Minister told reporters here.
On Friday, Chief Minister Sai met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. During the meeting, he presented the changing face of Bastar, highlighting peace and development initiatives, and also briefed the Prime Minister about the recently held Su-Shasan Tihar (Good Governance Festival) in Chhattisgarh.
Sharing about their meeting, CM Sai in a social media post on X, wrote, “The leadership of the successful Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a symbol of the strength and self-reliance of the new India. Our country is fortunate that its reins are in the hands of a visionary leader like Modi Ji, who has brought glory to Mother India on the global stage many times. During your tenure, the country has witnessed unprecedented change and progress in every field.”

During the meeting, the Prime Minister was informed that our government in Chhattisgarh is fulfilling every guarantee given by him with full sincerity, the positive results of which are clearly visible on the ground in accordance with the wishes of the Prime Minister,” the post reads.
CM Sai also briefed PM Modi about action against Naxalism.
He wrote, “I informed the Prime Minister about the ongoing action against Naxalism, the strategy and the success being achieved by our security forces.
