“Congress divided country…”: MP CM Mohan Yadav slams Congress – World News Network

Sheopur (Madhya Pradesh) [India], November 8 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday strongly criticised the Congress Party, claiming that the country’s division was a result of decisions made by the grand old party, which had approved India’s partition.
“Whatever the Congress says, if the country was divided, it happened because of them. When the British were leaving India, it was Congress that sanctioned the partition. The Congress has consistently faced communal unrest in its governed states, so the reality cannot be ignored. Wherever there are Congressmen, they create divides along religious lines. If anyone is responsible for the country’s economic distress, it is Congress,” CM Yadav told ANI.
He further stated that Congress could never escape the taint of its past mistakes.
“If the country has endured hardship due to past misgovernance, Congress has played a role in it. These accusations will persist against them. Congress can never wash away the stigma of its past sins,” CM Yadav added.
He also alleged that Congress continued to support illegal infiltrators within the country. He argued that the party remained silent on issues in Bangladesh due to its fear of losing vote banks.
“Congress is still harbouring intruders in our country. Why does Congress not speak out on incidents in Bangladesh? Because it fears losing vote banks. Bangladeshi infiltrators are intruders, as are Pakistanis. If there’s wrongdoing by Hindus, call it out. But Congress’s policy of singling out Hindus is unfair,” CM Yadav said.
Regarding his campaign visit to Jharkhand, the Chief Minister expressed optimism about establishing a “double engine” government in the state.
“I am pleased to visit Jharkhand and Bihar, regions steeped in Sanatan culture, though under Congress leadership, development has lagged. However, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, this will accelerate. I’m heading to Jharkhand today with the hope of establishing a double-engine government,” Yadav said.
He expressed confidence in a favourable outcome, citing the growing support for the BJP in Jharkhand, boosted by the BJP’s successes in Haryana and Modi’s third term.
“I am hopeful that India will emerge as a global force. Jharkhand has immense potential in the mining sector, and it can progress under PM Modi’s leadership. With BJP in power at both the centre and in the states, development gains momentum, and I hope this trend continues,” the CM added.
He also appealed to voters, urging them to support the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to contribute to development under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
Meanwhile, in response to CM Yadav’s remarks, state Congress Chief Jitu Patwari, speaking to ANI in Bhopal, questioned the BJP’s fulfilment of promises made during the 2023 state assembly polls.
“The BJP promised a monthly aid of Rs 3000 for Ladli Behna. Are they receiving it? Is this true or false? They misled the Ladli Behnas and took votes. They also promised MSP of Rs 2700 per quintal for wheat and Rs 3100 for paddy. Is this true or false? If Congress is accused of lying, the Chief Minister should clarify what the truth is,” Patwari challenged.
He further alleged that the BJP had discontinued welfare schemes for the poor and stopped scholarships for SC-ST and OBC students. He noted that financial issues in 33 departments had left the state in distress.
“I want to meet him face-to-face. I want to talk. You (referring to CM Yadav) stand on a foundation of lies. The BJP is built on lies. I believe this has become their ideological stance; they deceive themselves and bring shame to the state with their language while accusing the opposition. What happened to the ‘Modi guarantee’ given during the 2023 assembly poll?” he added. (ANI)
