Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], September 4 (ANI): BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Tuesday accused Telangana CM Revanth Reddy of revealing wrong data about the deaths due to recent floods.
KTR shared a post on X, listing a total of 31 deceased and alleged that the government has “failed to do a proper assessment.”
“You (referring to CM Reddy) know that is disrespectful to a person? Ignoring his death, lying about their death, not considering their death I request the Telangana government to stop peddling lies. You had announced yesterday that only 16 people died. But please ask your team to check this list and help all the families,” KTR wrote on X.
“If you released wrong data because you aren’t aware – I pity you! And if you have released the wrong data because you wanted to cover up your inadequacies- I abhor you! Shame on you!” KTR further added.
Earlier, CM Reddy said that 16 people lost their lives due to heavy rains. He also said that Crops have been damaged in lakhs of acres, canals and ponds breached, road network cut off and electric substations and electric poles also damaged. CM said that the preliminary estimation indicated a loss of 5,438 crore property damages. Government received information that the Adilabad, Nirmal and Nizamabad districts will receive more rain.
After the recent rain brought havoc in the state, CM Reddy emphasised that removing encroachments around lakes across the state is a top priority, and the government will not hesitate to demolish encroachments on all water bodies. He directed officials to prepare a report on the encroachment of ponds and lakes to resolve any pending court cases. The Chief Minister cited the recent example of how the Ram Nagar area in Hyderabad was made safe from floods by removing encroachments on the Nala.
CM Reddy stated that nature retaliates when the ecosystem is disrupted. He mentioned that heavy rains have inundated colonies due to the encroachment of lakes and ponds. In response to demands for expanding HYDRA activities across the state, the CM ordered officials to develop an action plan for every area. (ANI)
