Kurukshetra (Haryana) [India], October 8 (ANI): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini visited Saini Samaj Dharamshala in Kurukshetra on Tuesday.
Saini, contesting the elections from Ladwa assembly constituency of Kurukshetra district was pictured interacting with the party workers and supporters at the Saini Samaj Dharamshala.
The counting of votes for assembly elections in Haryana is scheduled to commence at 8 am on Tuesday. The polling for the 90 seats of the Haryana Assembly ended on October 5.
BJP candidate from Panchkula, Gian Chand Gupta said that he is confident that the results will be very good.
“We have the blessings of Mata Mansa Devi and I am fully confident that the results will be very good and I will win the Panchkula seat. Every party claims to be winning but as per the inputs that we are getting, BJP is going to form the government for the third time. As far as exit polls are concerned, even in Chhattisgarh the polls were adverse and showed Congress forming the government. But the BJP formed the government there. Here too, BJP will ‘bloom’ the ‘Lotus’ for the third time,” Gian Chand Gupta told ANI.
He further asserted that AAP contested for “tokenism,” adding that the party is not going to win any seats in the state.
“I don’t think they will win any seats. But elections are elections, every party contests to win,” he said.
Counting of votes for assembly elections in Haryana will begin at 8 am. Postal ballots will be counted first, followed by EVM counting after 30 minutes.
Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Agarwal stated that 93 counting centres have been set up for 90 assembly constituencies in 22 districts of the state.
Two counting centres each have been set up for the Badshahpur, Gurugram, and Pataudi assembly constituencies, while one counting centre each has been established for the remaining 87 assembly constituencies, where the counting will take place. To monitor the counting process, 90 counting observers also have been appointed by the Election Commission.
Agarwal informed that comprehensive security arrangements have been made for the counting. A total of 30 companies of Central Armed Police Forces have been deployed at 93 counting centres. The counting centres have been put under a three-tier security cover. Central security forces have been deployed in the innermost security cover. After that, state-armed police and district police personnel will be deployed in the outermost cover. Around 12,000 police personnel are on duty at the counting centres across the state.
Agarwal stated that adequate checkpoints have been set up within a 100-meter perimeter of each counting centre. CCTV cameras have been installed in all 90 strong rooms where the EVM are stored to closely monitor all activities. Unauthorized individuals will be restricted from entering these areas. Additionally, CCTV cameras have been installed at the main entrance and throughout the entire premises of the counting centres to ensure comprehensive monitoring.
Moreover, the exit polls have predicted that Congress is poised to win Haryana.
The results are likely to reflect political sentiments as parties gear up for upcoming electoral battles in Maharashtra, Jharkhand. (ANI)
