New Delhi [India], December 19 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Sudhanshu Trivedi on Thursday came out in defence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, saying that Congress should have responded in the Parliament itself if they found something objectionable in his speech.
Taking a dig at Congress, Trivedi asked whether the “Soros secret service” put them up to the task of preparing a 12-second video.
“If Congress found something objectionable, why did they not respond to it on the spot in the Parliament? After 12 hours they posted a video of 12 seconds… Did the Soros secret service send them a signal that the next morning they have to prepare a video of 12 seconds…. (Congress) can change their face a million times, but the mirror never lies,” BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi told reporters.
Meanwhile, BJP national spokesperson CR Kesavan launched a scathing attack on Congress, saying that a “fake narrative” was being pushed against the Union Home Minister after being “humiliatingly” exposed in the Constitutional debate organised in the Parliament.
“… A fake, fraudulent narrative about the Home Minister was maliciously manufactured by the dirty tricks department of the Congress Party to divert attention after the Congress Party was humiliatingly exposed in the constitutional debate about their anti-Ambedkar, anti-constitution, and anti-reservation mindset…” Kesavan said in a self-made video.
He further said that Congress needs to apologise to the nation for misleading them and trying to “poison” the political discourse in the country.
“…This is Narendra Modi, who is the person safeguarding the legacy and protecting the guarantees given by Dr Ambedkar to the marginalized sections. The Congress Party needs to unconditionally apologise to the nation for misleading the nation and trying to poison the political discourse in our country,” Kesavan said.
This comes amid a fresh controversy where BJP MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi alleged that he was hurt after getting a push from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Sarangi claimed that he was standing on stairs when another member of Parliament fell on him, leading to an injury on his head.
The BJP MP was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for treatment in an ambulance. BJP MP Mukesh Rajput was also injured during the protests and he has also been admitted in the RML hospital.
Reacting to this, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, in his defence, said that he was trying to get inside the Parliament when he was also pushed and threatened by the BJP MPs who were protesting near the entrance. He also alleged that Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge was also pushed.
Medical Superintendent Ajay Shukla said that both of the leaders suffered head injuries and have been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Shukla also said that they are trying to stabilize both (Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput).
On Thursday morning, the Parliament witnessed parallel protests from both the Treasury and Opposition benches outside parliament. The ruling BJP MPs were protesting in the Parliament’s premises against the Congress party for “insulting” Babasaheb Ambedkar.
“Babasaheb Ambedkar ji ka apmaan nahi chalega (Insult to Babasaheb Ambedkar ji will not be tolerated),” BJP MPs chanted in the premises while holding banners which read, “Ambedkar showed us the path, Congress misled.”
INDIA Bloc MPs led by Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi held a protest on Thursday in the Parliament premises and demanded the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah over his remarks on Babasaheb Ambedkar.
Many MPs including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Sanjay Raut, Mahua Majhi, and Ram Gopal Yadav were seen wearing blue clothes as a mark of protest against the Home Minister’s remarks.
Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha witnessed adjournments, earlier on Wednesday, with the Congress and other opposition members protesting against remarks of Home Minister Amit Shah relating to BR Ambedkar during his attack on Congress in his speech in Rajya Sabha.
The issue snowballed into a major political controversy with the Congress seeking the resignation of Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders attacking the opposition party. (ANI)
