Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], April 12 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister paid tributes to the late Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Lalji Tandon on the occasion of his 90th birth anniversary and said that his doors always remained open for the party workers.
Paying homage to the late Tandon, Pathak assured that the state government would continue to work to realise his dream of “Viksit Uttar Pradesh”. Pathak referred to Tandon as “Babuji”, as he was fondly known by this title among party workers.
“Today is the birth anniversary of Lalji Tandon, and I pay my respects to him. He always worked for the people, and his doors were always open for the party workers. Pujya Babuji had relations with every household in Lucknow. Babuji worked to set the standard of purity. We pay our tribute to him. Our party and government will continuously work to fulfil his dreams of Viksit UP,” Pathak told reporters here.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also paid respects to former Bihar and Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon on his birth anniversary and said that he maintained good relations with people and political parties while discharging his constitutional responsibilities with “full honesty”.
“Be it in Bhopal or Patna, he discharged his constitutional responsibilities with full honesty and maintained good relations with the people. While doing so, he connected with the ‘Raj Bhavan Janata ke Dwar’ campaign and strengthened the system. Today is the 90th birth anniversary of Lalji Tandon,” Yogi Adityanath said while addressing the gathering here.
“I want to assure the Tandon family that the party stands with them, and the people of Lucknow also stand with them,” the UP CM said.
Tandon was a tall BJP leader from the era of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and LK Advani. He died at a hospital in Lucknow in 2020. He took oath as Madhya Pradesh Governor in July 2019. (ANI)
