New Delhi [India], March 26 (ANI): Congress MP Pramod Tiwari has launched a sharp critique on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on his remarks on Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and suggested him to avoid from using such language for any leader stating that respectful language is the power of democracy.
Speaking to ANI, Tiwari said, “I condemn it. He should avoid using such words for any leader… Even I can say various things for PM Modi, Home Minister or any leader, but respectful language is the power of democracy.”
Congress leader Sukhdeo Bhagat also attacked CM Adityanath for calling Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi “namuna” and said that the latter and other BJP leaders do not have ‘sanskar’ (value).
“Main samjhta hu ki chahai vo Yogi Adityanath ho ya BJP ke senior leaders, ‘sanskar’ (value) toh unke pass hain nahi (I think be it Yogi Adityanath or senior leaders of the BJP, they do not have value). I think the choice of such words reflects their political bankruptcy…I take pity on his thinking that he is saying this for a Leader of Opposition. He has not insulted Rahul Gandhi but an LoP and the entire Parliament,” Sukhdeo Bhagat told ANI.
Earlier, RJD MP Manoj Jha said that it is a matter of “concern” that such people are sitting in dignified positions.
“His philosophy is very narrow. He has no concern with the Constitution and its essence…It is a matter of concern for democracy that such people are sitting on dignified positions,” Manoj Jha told ANI.
In an interview with ANI, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi a “namuna” (specimen) and alleged that the party wanted to keep “controversy” alive in Ayodhya.\
“Ek Bharat ko Shresht Bharat nahi hona chahiye? You should ask them, then, what were they doing for six to ten decades? He should have asked his grandfather, grandmother and father. Why didn’t they do it at that time? The whole of India is getting support from Modi ji. Why didn’t the Congress do this? They always wanted to let the Ayodhya controversy remain a controversy. In Kashi’s Sankri Gali, they have been doing politics all their life in the name of Gandhi ji. But in 1916, Gandhi made strong remarks on Kashi’s Sankri Gali. Why did they not fulfil the dream of Mahatma Gandhi? His dream was fulfilled by PM Modi. Why did the Congress not abolish the three-talaq? Why did the Congress not promote the Kumbh with so much pride and divinity? Why did Congress fail to provide the world-class model of infrastructure in the country? And in Ayodhya, the construction of the Ram Mandir has also been done. Everyone is getting a glimpse of a new Ayodhya. Lakhs of people are coming every day to see it,” CM Adityanath told ANI.
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister further dubbed Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ as ‘Bharat Todo Abhiyan’ and said that everyone was aware of his intentions.
“His ‘Bharat Jodo’ is a part of ‘Bharat Todo Abhiyan’. When he goes to the South, he criticises the North. When he goes to the North, he criticises the South. When he goes outside India, he will criticize India. The country has understood his conduct. In India’s politics, Bharatiya Janata Party ke liye Rahul jaise kuch namune rehne chahiye jisse ek rasta hamesha ke liye saaf hota rahe aur acha rahe,” he added.
Rahul Gandhi had commenced the first leg of the Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari on September 7, 2022 and concluded it on January 30 in Srinagar after covering 3,970 km, 12 states, and two Union territories and having lasted more than 130 days. (ANI)
