New Delhi [India], July 25 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to hold nationwide programmes to inform the public across the country about the features and benefits of the Union Budget 2024-25 in wake of the ongoing protest by the opposition parties accusing the budget of being ‘discriminatory.’
In this regard, the BJP will organise programmes across the country on Saturday and Sunday.
Union Ministers and national office bearers will visit prominent places in the country to have detailed discussions with people about the budget. Members of Parliament will visit every district, and programmes will be held in every district regarding Budget 2024-25.
An intellectual conference will be organised, wherein people from the PHD Chamber of Commerce will be invited. As per the directions of BJP national president JP Nadda, a programme will be held BJP’s National General Secretary, Arun Singh, told ANI.
The programmes must highlight the benefits of the Budget for the poor, farmers, SC-STs, and those employed in MSMEs, the directive said.
Another source told ANI that the Party has asked state units to designate an office-bearer and to submit a report after the campaign is completed. Leaders have also been asked to highlight various points of the budget on their personal and official social media accounts.
On Friday, in a strong rebuttal to the opposition’s criticism of Union Budget 2024-25, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Thursday accused the opposition of engaging in mere politics rather than providing constructive feedback on the budget.
Speaking on the significance of the budget, Rijiju highlighted its ambitious goals and termed it as a “historical budget”
“I want to condemn the remarks made by some opposition leaders on the Budget. The opposition did not say anything about the budget, rather they have just done politics. They have insulted the mandate of the people, which is not right for democracy. After the presentation of the first budget of the historic third term under the leadership of PM Modi, the country wants to see that the discussion on the budget takes place in a good and meaningful manner. The way the leaders of some parties commented during the budget session and the way they gave speeches, I would like to say that they have insulted the House by lowering the dignity of the budget session,” Rijiju said.
Rijiju urged for a focus on the budget during the parliamentary session. He said that the opposition has insulted the mandate of the people by criticizing the budget.
Meanwhile, a two-day meeting of the BJP’s organisation ministers is starting on Thursday. The meeting will review the results of the Lok Sabha elections and prepare a new strategy for direct outreach to voters, along with the necessary membership campaign for the election of the president.
After the meeting of the organisation ministers, a meeting of the chief ministers of the party-ruled states and state presidents will be held on Saturday and Sunday. (ANI)
