Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 23 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Sunday that Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mukherjee dedicated his entire life to the unity and integrity of India.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the ‘Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee Samman Samaroh’ programme organised in Dadar, West Mumbai, to commemorate the Balidan Diwas of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.
During this, the Chief Minister was also honoured with the Syama Prasad Mukherjee Smriti Samman.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid tribute to Syama Prasad Mukherjee on his death anniversary.
“Syama Prasad Mukherjee ji has dedicated his entire life to the unity and integrity of India. He was a good thinker. The seed he sowed in the form of Bharatiya Jana Sangh is today in front of the world as the largest party. His life reminds us of his dedication to serving the country. He always supported equality, unity, and justice; he gave the mantra of one constitution, one head, and one flag to the country. With his thoughts, he dedicated his entire life to a powerful and prosperous India,” Dhami said.
The Chief Minister said that today all the countrymen are seeing the dreams of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee being fulfilled under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Today, work is being done on equal civil rights in the country, after the independence of the country, Article 370 has been abolished from Kashmir. He said that the Uttarakhand government has also made Dr. Mukherjee ji’s dreams come true by passing the Uniform Civil Code Bill as per the Constitution and has obtained the approval of His Excellency the President. The state of Uttarakhand has become the first state in the country to implement the Uniform Civil Code,” Dhami said.
“In the Assembly elections of 2022, the people of Uttarakhand again formed our government for the second consecutive time. As soon as we came to power, we first worked to bring the Uniform Civil Code as per the promise made to the public. He said that the draft of the Uniform Civil Code was prepared by collecting the views of everyone in the state,” he added.
The Chief Minister said that Syama Prasad Mukherjee believed that for the creation of a strong nation, there is a need for equal law for all the people living in society. He had called it a social and moral requirement.
The Chief Minister said that the Uniform Civil Code in Uttarakhand has not been brought to discriminate against anyone but to bring the Prime Minister’s Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sabka Vishwas to reality. He said that through UCC, women, the elderly, children, and common citizens will get their rights.
The Chief Minister said that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, continuous work is being done to establish a strong society in India.
“Many historical works have been done in the country under the leadership of Modi ji. Triple Talaq has been abolished. The dream of building a Ram temple has been fulfilled under the leadership of PM Modi,” he said. (ANI)
