New Delhi [India], June 1 (ANI): Following INDIA bloc meeting in Delhi, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anil Desai on Saturday said that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) will get 30-35 seats in the Lok Sabha election 2024.
“We will get 30-35 seats (out of 295 seats) in Maharashtra,” he told ANI.
The MVA is a coalition in Maharashtra consisting of Shiv Sena, UBT, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and Congress. They have joined hands for the Lok Sabha elections.
After the INDIA bloc meeting, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge exuded confidence that the Opposition alliance will win more than 295 seats in the Lok Sabha elections.
“INDIA bloc will win at least 295 seats in the elections…it will be over that, but not less. We have analysed after discussing with all the leaders, and there is no doubt in the number…this is people’s survey, based on the information given by people,” Kharge said while speaking to reporters on Saturday.
Opposition-led Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc held a meeting at the residence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in the national capital on Saturday.
TMC chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee skipped the meeting as she had earlier informed that she would not attend the meeting due to the polls in the state and to review the impact of cyclone Remal. PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti also skipped the meeting.
Leaders from Congress, Samajwadi Party, CPI-M, CPI, DMK, JMM, AAP, RJD, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP (Sharad Pawar) gathered at Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence for discussions.
A total of 28 opposition parties have formed a mammoth coalition under the name of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Coalition (INDIA) to face and defeat the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Voting started in the last 57 parliamentary constituencies at 7 am today across seven states and the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
Polling for the earlier six phases of Lok Sabha elections was held on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20 and May 25. The results of the polls will be declared on June 4.
The exit polls will come out after voting in the last phase of elections concludes on June 1. (ANI)
