Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 31:International Gemological Institute (IGI) has analyzed and graded a 75.33 carat square-emerald cut lab grown diamond, the world’s largest to date, along with a unique 30.69 carat ring-shaped diamond, said to be crafted from a single crystal grown rough stone with Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD). Named the “Celebration of India” and “Infinity Ring,” by creator Ethereal Green Diamond LLP in collaboration with RockRush (SoHo, New York). Both industry milestones are on display at the JCK Show, Las Vegas from 31st May to 3rd June at booth no #8135.
The 75.33 ct diamond was graded by IGI as a type IIa with excellent polish and symmetry. It took ~270 days to grow to 190 carats rough stone and ~30 days to cut & polish. “At Ethereal Green, we are constantly innovating, adopting new technology, and creating benchmarks,” said Hirav Virani, Director at Ethereal Green. “It gives me immense pleasure to showcase “Celebration of India” which has not only created a new milestone of 75 ct but also commemorates sovereign India’s remarkable achievements for over 75 years of Independence.” Last year, the honourable PM of India Mr Narendra Modi gifted an IGI-certified 7.5 ct Laboratory Grown Diamond to First Lady of the United States Dr Jill Biden marking the celebration of India’s 75th Independence.
Infinity Ring, the 30.69 ct is a unique shaped diamond ring, identified as a type IIa with excellent polish and symmetry as graded by IGI. “The Infinity Ring is a testament to our skilled workmanship. This unique ring was carved out from a 98.88 carats rough CVD stone,” added Hirav Virani, Director at Ethereal Green. The Infinity Ring took about 146 days to grow as per the manufacturer. Further transformation to its final “freeform modified shape” took 90 days of meticulous crafting at Ethereal Green’s state-of-the-art facility in Gujarat (Surat), India.
“These achievements are striking examples of Ethereal Green’s dedication to innovation and ingenuity in consistently breaking their own records” stated Tehmasp Printer, CEO of IGI. “We congratulate their team in developing these extraordinary creations which showcase limitless possibilities with advanced tech in the lab grown diamond sector.”
Post JCK Show, “Celebration of India” and “Infinity Ring” will be displayed at the RockRush store in SoHo, New York.
IGI is also participating at the JCK show and will be providing on-site grading, gemstone screening and educational information at the institute’s booth, #11065. Attendees are invited to join IGI’s Senior Director of Education, John Pollard, for “Consumer Education 101 on Jewelry Myths & Customer Objections” on Thursday at 10:00 am and daily at 4:30 pm for Happy Hour events, including IGI “Gem & Jewelry Jeopardy,” and presentations by IGI’s experts about the institute’s latest services and offerings.
