Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], September 26 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav held a meeting in New Delhi with Union Minister of Jal Shakti CR Patil and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma for the better implementation of Parbati-Kalisindh-Chambal river linking project and said that long standing dispute between the two states was resolved.
CM Yadav also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying the river linking campaign was going on at a large scale under his leadership.
After the meeting on Wednesday, CM Yadav said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the river linking campaign is going on at a large scale. Especially, the cultural, economic, and social attachment of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan is such that it seems both states are a single state. Besides, Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma and Union Minister of Jal Shakti C R Patil are also taking interest in it (river linking project).”
“There was a 20-year-old dispute between our states (MP and Rajasthan) which has not only been resolved but also has been brought to a conclusion and its results will soon be seen. The area of the river linking project is also increasing. I am satisfied that in the coming time it is going to be unique for both the states,” he added.

In a post on X on Wednesday (September 25), CM Yadav wrote, “Today in New Delhi, a meaningful discussion was held with Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma in the presence of Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil, regarding better implementation of Parbati-Kalisindh-Chambal River Project.”
This link project proposes to provide drinking, irrigation and industrial water in 13 districts of eastern Rajasthan, Malwa and Chambal regions of Madhya Pradesh apart from providing irrigation in 2.8 lakh hectares (or more) each in both the states (total of 5.6 lakh ha or more) including supplementation of en route tanks in the states.
The Modified PKC link project will help in utilising the available water resources of the Chambal basin optimally and economically. The various components of the Modified PKC link including areas of benefit shall be firmed up at the DPR stage in consultation with both the states. (ANI)
